Last week we had our church Easter party. It was called a tween party and was for eight to fourteen year olds. The kids made Easter crafts and had pizza. They also decorated the church and helped set up the Easter egg hunt for the little kids.

The kids had Friday off because of the Good Friday holiday. We went to the stations of the cross service at noon. The high school age youth group did the stations of the cross. They have a model cross that they carry around with them to each station. I like the stations of the cross service.

Saturday evening we went out for dinner at a local diner. We were getting together with my husband’s family the next day and going to Easter services, so we did not go to the vigil service on Saturday night. It is the first time in a while I have not gone to the Easter vigil. We went to the nine o’ clock church service on Easter morning. Afterward we had a brunch with my husband’s family. It was nice and we had a chance to talk. The kids played with their cousins as well as some of the neighborhood kids. That evening my husband’s sister and her family came in from out of town. We had dinner at my husband’s parents’. We got the dinner from a place that has prepackaged meals. We had lamb and roast chicken, cheesy potatoes, green beans and sliced tomatoes. We also ordered a strawberry shortcake for dessert. Everything was great and much easier than cooking for ourselves.

Last night we went out for dinner with my parents. It was a nice restaurant that was right next to a small pond. Overall we had a nice Easter weekend.
