in red, blue or black
not marginally awesome
or one off the rack
I want people to see me
when I walk down the road
a prince or a princess
not a frog or a toad
the suitors will be calling
with gifts just for me
some may come crawling
on a hand and a knee
I’m smart as a whistle
and as sharp as a tack
but no one is looking
and that’s a hard fact
so I wanna be pretty
as pretty as can be
so you might take the time
to see the real me.
