Maui in Talk Story

Aloha…

We are getting a light rain here on the southern coast of Oregon this afternoon… quite a change from the sunny 85f temperature of two days ago…

I drove into town at noon… lunch at Café Kitanishi… and per my usual… ordered sushi…

While eating lunch… it reminded me of times spent on the island… and of the numerous restaurants that I would go to for sushi…

Funny how food sometimes triggers memories of times gone bye…

Anyway… the hour spent at lunch was quite pleasant… as were (are) my memories....

I have shared with you dear reader… that there is rarely a day that goes by… that I don’t think about my life on the island…

I am grateful for where I live… but I do miss… well… you know…

Most of my friends that I spent time with… are no longer on the island… some have returned to the mainland… others have passed away…

I do keep in touch with a few… but I realize that if I was to return… it would be different for me… maybe it’s just as well that I can’t…
