Or do I?
It’s hard to tell sometimes. I really have nothing to say.... except I want to say something. I could come up with various trivia. Yeah, I could. For some reason the so-called fact that John Cheever’s IQ wasn’t high enough for him to be an officer in the military keeps coming to the front of my mental index cards. Seems like the cutoff was 110. I have no idea if that is true or not. Whether there is a minimum IQ for army officers or whether Cheever’s was below it if there was one.
Weather was nice today. The big farmers have started big farming. Lots of anhydrous tanks and applicators in the field where I turn off the highway.
We have calves and I should take their pictures. I put the camera in my pocket and went out with the intention of calf photography but instead I took the broom down to the Buick and swept out the floor of the front seat. Then because it was nice out and because I could, I read the Donald Hall book of poetry I got at the library the last time I was there. The poems are quite good. I still don’t know what makes a poem but I guess I don’t have to know.
We have a quality audit at work tomorrow. I no longer have to worry about how audits go, but I still hope it’s a success. Odds are against anyone talking to me. We all got new labels for our alcohol bottles.
I bought the printer/copier a new print cartridge today. Just a black one. We can forgo color copies for a while. We rarely use the thing, so rarely that the previous cartridges dried up, and for some reason that made me mad. I realize that makes no sense. It’s on the same plain (or plane, take your pick) as Cheever’s IQ.
I am almost at the end of the tape version of Len Deighton’s Winter. It’s about Germany and WWI and WWII. It covers a lot of ground, and some of it’s hard to follow but I’m enjoying it. It’s good to listen to on the way to and from work. I wonder what I’ll be able to find next.
As for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign? I will vote for her but I don’t plan to work for her. I did that eight years ago to very little effect
