Apartment blues......with added pics in blackpropaganda

Just a bit more information about the apartment in Spain. We have had it fort about ten years - off plan - and since we had some capital there was no mortgage on it. Some people who bought houses or apartments then were convinced by the argument that they would get a lot of rental income - but we have never let it out - only friends and family go there - and friends contribute to the running expenses. The financial crisis (which hit Spain badly because of so much property and debt) basically destroyed the rental market and also the hopes of people who sold up in the UK and started small businesses in Spain.
Things have settled down now - and if we sold we should get out money back - but it still fulfils a purpose for family and friends - however you still have to have money to sustain it - the water and electricity are dear - we have community charges - and other taxes - but as long as we can afford those it is fine.
Certainly it is nice to get two weeks away fro the price of an air fare.

Anyway - we are booked.

Also Oxford won the mens’ and womens’ Boat Races - easily - and that is the problem of the BR - rarely is it really a race apart from the first third or so - and now they are sponsored by corporate investment firms it is as cut off from the rest of society as it always was. As a working class boy who did not know where Oxford was - and no thoughts of going there - I always supported Oxford. I think I liked the underdog - as they were then - also I liked dark blue. Now they really have the edge on Cambridge.

Is there any sport I can watch without being aware of how much it depends on sponsorship or advertising to survive. In the old days the rowers trained a bit - drank a bit - wenched a bit - then rowed - and then drank and wenched a lot. Now they are selected for the crews after extensive physical and mental tests - I would guess wenching is out except at certain times when it will not affect your rowing performance - in - out, in - out!!!

and don’t forget the Kama Sutra - Rowing Boat position - particularly good for men with big penises apparently

OK - enough chatting here - I have already made bread this morning - and now off to read the papers.
