14 week survey in Humanity

How far along? 14 Weeks

How big is baby? 3 1/2 inches – about the size of a lemon – and weighs 1 1/2 ounces.

Total weight gain/loss: Up to about 110.6; which is about net / 4 lbs gained

Maternity clothes? Oh yes. Keep ‘em coming. MY BUMP IS HUGE!!

Sleep: UGH. I’ve been so sick and we’ve had family/friends in town for the past week. Sleep has been elusive, but we are back in our routine starting tomorrow, so hoping to play catch up. This has nothing to do with baby, BTW, I think I’ve happily slid into the 2nd trimester now.

Best moment this week: Aaron’s mom’s wedding festivities and having our best friends and family stay with us. It was SUCH a fun weekend (despite being sick as a dog). It was nice to be able to tell all of our Minnesota family / friends about the baby news in person. SO great.

Worst moment this week: BEING SICK ALL THE GOD DAMN TIME.

Movement: None yet.. thinking we might get some in about 4-6 weeks.

Food Cravings: Today it was cereal and salad. YAY SALAD FINALLY!!

Food Aversions: I think I’m finally over my aversion to greens. Thank god.

Gender: GIRL :)

Labor Signs: NOOOOOOO!

Pregnancy Symptoms: a bit more weight gain, a bit more intensity in the round ligaments when I sneeze, but overall pregnancy stuff has eased up now that I’m in the honeymoon period :)

Belly Button in or out? In

What I miss: Nothing right now, feeling pretty dang good.

What I am looking forward to: Massage on Saturday night. WOOP WOOP!

Upcoming appointments/events:
Bringing Joaquin to our dr. visit tomorrow! Fun! :)

Milestones (BabyCenter):
Welcome to the second trimester! This week’s big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck her thumb. Thanks to brain impulses, her facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. Her kidneys are producing urine, which she releases into the amniotic fluid around her – a process he’ll keep up until birth. She can grasp, too, and if you’re having an ultrasound now, you may even catch her sucking his thumb.

Current favorite GIRL names: Orion / Aurion, Lily, Amaya
