Loss in Talk Story

Aloha…

My phone rang early Sunday morning…

Wait… I need to start over…

I have a favorite female cousin… married… two children… all living in the S.F. bay area…
She is one of those people… that if asked of myself to name something negative about her… well… there’s just nothing…

She is generous… kind… loving… a great wife and mother… a great friend to many… and I have been fond of her all of her life…

Back to the phone call…

It was her husband… calling to tell me of her death…

She died in the hospital… friends and family with her as she struggled to stay alive…

Her husband and I talked for about an hour… his pain taking me back to my loss of family members…

I remember when my ex left me… and the grief I felt at the time… but of course I had lost someone who no longer loved me…

My cousin’s husband has lost someone who was deeply in love with him… and of course him with her…

Time will bring healing to him… as it does with all of us… but right now he is in a lot of pain…

Beyond what I have written… words fail me…
