Happy Easter! in Day to day life from a woman that turned 60 in Oct 2014 and who lives on a farm and Retired on January 2, 2016. I plan to do more sewing, work outside in the yard and just enjoy my retirement.

It is almost 5:30pm and my feet hurt but my heart is full. Great day from start to now. I was up early and got some things done and the ham in the oven with the timer on for the oven to come on at 11. J went to church with me as he had promised, and he looked very dapper. He loves to be told he looks handsome but most men do like a compliment same as women. We (women) sometimes forget that little fact.
I wrote this on my FB page this morning for myself more than anyone. I’m going to get better at enjoying day to day life and not worry about “appearance”.
“Celebrate the day. THIS day is why we celebrate every other day. Do not worry about the dust, man was made from the dust of the earth. Do not worry about the fingerprints on the windows and mirrors, they are your unique proof that you are alive. Don’t worry about the your home not being “picture perfect” as you have a home that by the grace of God, you are allowed to reside in and be with your friends and loved ones. I am so very thankful for this day to remember and worship and thank Jesus again for all He has given.”
Now that Easter basket’s have been emptied, Easter dinner done, eggs have been hidden and found. Tummy’s too full, the dishwasher is washing, and the day is winding down, I know the kitchen floor needs to be swept and mopped again, but I am sitting and resting and writing. I could use a nap in the worst way, but it is too close to bedtime for me to cave to the urge.
My weekend has been a short one, yet a long one.
Just paused so I could sweep and mop and wash up the dishes that were not washed earlier and couldn’t fit into the dishwasher. Daughter did do a great job cleaning up everything, thankfully, but wanted to get stuff done up so it was done it. heh. So a very active day was had and brother and SIL said yesterday they were coming but for some reason decided to do their own dinner. Not sure what the reason but don’t care one way or the other. it is hard to have a conversation with anybody when everyone is here and the oldest granddaughter tries so hard to be part of the adults now that she has to talk non-stop. It’s a bit comical at times, and frustrating at other times. She just cannot be quiet. Ahhh those tween years.
I had DIL get a roll of quarters and put two quarters in an egg until I ran out of quarters. That gave each seeker $2. Not much a piece, but they were excited to find the plastic eggs that had that “jingle jingle” sound. We made sure that at the end it was equal for each and all the kids went home with a little extra change. It was worth the $10 for sure. Maybe next year I’ll shoot for $20 and make them even happier.
I hope that each and everyone of you had a wonderful Easter day whatever and where ever the day took you. I am feeling so blessed for so many reasons and I count you as part of those blessings. Take care and God Bless.
