Be happy....... in blackpropaganda

Apparently today is the International Day of Happiness - I wonder who thinks these up? Still it sound a good idea - hey, everyone - get happy. Look on the bright side - count your blessings - make someone smile - make yourself happy (hey better be careful here when you realise what makes people happy!)

Anyway - the day started well since the was a partial eclipse of the sun over part of the UK - and total eclipse just north of it - we were due to see the moon go in front of the sun at about 9.30 am - but no chance since there was cloud everywhere. So we watched the tv where the BBC did us proud - thank God for public service broadcasting - and there were fantastic pictures from a plane which had a clear picture of the total eclipse - and wherever you were they kept telling us not look directly at the sun etc etc - so someone made a killing out of the special glasses. You could use a pinhole - or even a colander - someone I saw had a welder’s helmet.

And a motorcyclist ( a learner) should be happy since he overtook me at speed just managing to cut in before being wiped out by a lorry coming the other way. That boy will not be long for this world!

I saw an old friend who used to work with me and we caught up on things in ten minutes.

So today I am exuding happiness - the sun is shining now - good weather is forecast for the weekend - and I painted a picture yesterday which went in to the framers this morning.
