Yep, I am glad I stayed home on Wednesday. It dropped a thin layer of sleet and then began snowing. We didn’t get as much as last Saturday but the road conditions got bad quickly. No serious accidents that I heard about although there were a lot of slide offs. So, thinking that since I knew early I wasn’t going to work, I thought I would get a lot done on the quilt. Not so. I seemed to be focused on the weather since my kids were all out in it. Geeze. So I did projects that I had been putting off doing. A light over the bar between the kitchen and living burned out on Tuesday and that just had to be changed. I got the tall ladder out of the garage and got that bulb changed out then I went ahead and changed a light bulb in the ceiling fan lights. Since I was doing ladder stuff, I got the 5 ft ladder and changed both filters and cleaned the vent covers with my hand held vac. Ahhh. Nice to get those things done. Put away both ladders and cleaned up the kitchen and then vacuumed the LR and hall way. The dust from cleaning the vents needed to go. Finally later in the day I decided to tackle some curtains I had bought at Goodwill to add to my bedroom curtains. I have curtains on my bedroom window but they “just fit” and I always wanted a little more material there. I have a brown, cream stripe set of curtains and the brown set I thought would go fine. They do, however, they were about 4” too short. *sigh. So I began my “fix” of the brown set of curtains. I measured and cut off the bottom of one panel to lengthen the other panel to match the current curtains. I sewed the two together and then folded the lengthened panel longwise and cut up the middle. Then I double hemmed the sides and put the finished project on each end of the rod with the original ones in the middle. I liked the look. However, I decided to take the other shortened panel that I had used, cut it up the middle and make it the same length as the curtain to have a middle brown panel. That one isn’t done yet but I know where I’m going anyway. I can make more work out of a project than anyone I know which is very frustrating at times. But that seems to be how I roll.

Also Wednesday afternoon I got a call from A. The baby daddy has used the paternity test and order to pay child support to have his name put on Os birth certificate. I thought when she first told me, he had faked it, but I called the department that does the changes and yes, he can do it and not have the mother’s permission, signature, or even knowledge. That sucks. However, I must stay positive and mature and a grownup. Told her, it may be the dumbest thing he could have done, since he is $1000’s in the whole on child support. This could back fire on him since he was so gung ho about having his name on the birth certificate yet, can’t manage to help support his son.

A called her lawyer and is going forward with the paperwork she started last summer. I made sure she didn’t delete any of the nasty texts he has sent to her over the last couple of years, and she hasn’t. The lawyer is interested in downloading the texts he has sent her and they will make anyone who reads them blush and then be angry. I believe the text messages will be her strongest proof that he was, is, and always will be a dirt bag. Now to get the legal system, judge, etc to be witness too will be a good day for all.

Daughter doesn’t want O not to see his dad but to talk decently to her. His disrespect is horrible at times. Then at other times, he is telling her he still loves her, and she is really the one he loves, etc. When the charm doesn’t work, then filth takes over out of mouth and through his fingers. It’s amazing to me that his wife is still sticking by him. Just amazing.

Work has been a whirlwind and I worked late both Thursday and Friday. Not real late, just past my regular going home time. Throws me off on my normal routine and then I’m so tired I go to bed just after 8pm. I wonder if I’ll get better at staying up a little longer next week when the time has changed? I sure do hope so.

Mickey’s birthday and birthday party is today. She is 11 years old. Wow how time flies. A slumber party was overnight last night at her house. Wonder if her dad got any sleep last night? He has to work today. The party is at 2 and since she wants money I didn’t shop. I will give her cash. She must have something in mind to buy as she has told everyone she wants money. Oh dear, afraid she’s turning into her mom. She is a shopper no matter when, where, weather, it doesn’t matter. Her mom has gone shopping Christmas afternoon if there is a store open and spend her Christmas money.

I need to get my laundry going and it is almost 6 am, and only filled the washer with water and no clothes yet.

Today we’re supposed to get into the 50s and I so can’t wait. Take care and God Bless
