The thing about time is that it keeps going. That is a blessing and a curse. I am almost a week older than I was when I took this picture. The river has thawed a March week’s worth since I took these pics.

A week is a rather small unit in time. Most changes that happen in a week are pretty imperceptible. Of course spring can be a sudden season.

There, Mary, you’ve written yourself into a corner. Time matters, and time does not matter.

We are working insane hours this month. Kids are home. I’m kind of sick.

But life is great. The world is full of beauty. We are here to enjoy it and to be kind to each other. Great purposes, aren’t they?

Top pic is water coming through a culvert on the Minnesota side of the earthen dam.

Pic just above is water entering the 1930s concrete on the upriver side of the dam.
