I was looking forward to reading this, as I’ve not read much on the English Civil War (fiction or non-fiction). Having said that, the ending appeared too perfect - too “happy”. Whilst it was a quick read, there didn’t seem to be much depth to the story or characters. Despite it including witchcraft, illicit love, religion, and war. I wish I could have gotten more involved in the story, but it wasn’t to be. It could have been so much more interesting.
