…but it was rather worth it. Hey at least I knew when I needed to sit down and stay there.
So that bug I’d been battling, apparently the fight is still a little bit on. As I’ve said, I ditched class Thursday. Went home, slept and sweated it out. It was ridiculous. Woke feeling much better on Friday so I thought all was not lost.
Friday:
Friend from work picked me up to take me to car rental place. Picked up the car, stopped by the store to get breakfast and lunch. Drank water, sprayed Lysol, felt a little weird because black tea has a ton of caffine and I didn’t realize it.
Afterwork, I travelled many moons from south to Northwest to pick up my grandson from his mother. He fell asleep in the car and was awake by the time we got to my house. He didn’t go back to sleep until very late and I was tired but determined to have a great weekend.
Saturday:
Still feeling okay, I got up and ran errands starting at about 9:30 or 10am. The weather finally broke and it was GORGEOUS!! Not too cold, definitely not hot…was a good time. Went to visit my mother which I was so glad to have been able to do. I love to see her, which is not enough. Grandbaby was excited to see his GiGi and he performed for her and everyone else who said hello to him.
After leaving mom, I went to the store to get snacks/snack food for my son’s “Weekend of Dude” in honor of his 17th birthday. I can’t belive my baby isn’t a baby anymore. Anyway, after that, I took stuff home, let the baby watch some videos I bought for him. Then I took him to his mother, after which I went to visit my father, whom I probably haven’t seen in about a year. I talk to him, but because of his work schedule, I’m not always able to see him so I was glad to see him. We talked and talked and I got to meet the new dog that he introduced as my brother. LOL
I left dad, went home and got dressed for the Art In Bloom show. It was so beautiful. I got there kind of late for the event I bought tickets for, but I just wanted to show my face and support for my florist friends who were hosting. This is around the time I started sweating profusely. I kept thinking I was hot flashing. I mean, my sweaters weren’t heavy, very mesh and light weight. I was a mess.
After seeing the displays, taking a few pictures, and speaking to my friends after the “Iron Florist” was over, I headed over to karaoke where I met my friend. Her new guy showed up late, but all in all it was cool. I noticed my throat felt kind of “meh” and lumpy a little because of the singing and I could feel the horseness that would come (hasn’t yet though).
I get home to the scent of feet and my son was alone. His dude weekend didn’t turn out like it was supposed to. I felt sad for him because I know all too well how it is when friends don’t come through. The one friend I was very surprised about. He lives a few doors down and told my son he would be back and never returned, not even to say he couldn’t stay.
Sunday:
So, as per the usual, Super Me to the rescue. I told him to get dressed so we can go to White Castle. He was cool with it, but then asked if we could go to Game Stop to trade in some games. I told him sure, knowing I had Game Stop in mind for the utlimate for him. So we get to game stop I do the trade. We’re both walking around the store, I’m sweating again, thinking maybe I’m just hot flashing, but I’m thinking I’m having some kind of issue. Anyway, I pick up a Wii U game and ask if he would like this. He said sure. I pre-ordered another Wii u game and he asked me at the counter why am I getting all this stuff for Wii U. I asked the guy at the counter if he had any Wii U’s in stock and I said I would like one, turned to my boy and said Happy Birthday. He exclaimed “YEEAHH!!” and hugged me many times. So I made him feel better.
I then went to visit my mother again with him. He nearly scared the diaper off of her. lol But she was so glad to see him. We spent a nice amount of time with her before going to pick my daughter up from work, took her to get some more hair stuff, dropped her off.
Headed in the direction of home, and I’m still sweating buckets, we stopped at the grocery store and got ice cream for us, liquor for when I’m better, and next door, Chinese food for dinner. We get home and I’m so hot and I’m so sweaty and completely worn out. I was supposed to go and see Carmen Rodgers at 4p. It was her listening party for her new cd and a meed & greet (which I’ve already met her twice and gotten pictures with her) and I couldn’t do it. I got a text from my friend Guitar Man that he had just arrived and asked if I would be coming. I told him that I so wanted to and had been looking forward to her being here, but I was busted and worn out. I asked him if he could get me a cd and I’d pay him back. Not only did he get the cd, but it was autographed. I told him he was the absolute best! (I just asked him how much I owed him for the cd and he just said it was a present- he is the best).
And now today, rental is returned, I’m at work, feeling like I’m missing some sleep and feeling a little weak, still battling.
So yeah, I think I over did it.
Keep me in your thoughts and prayers. :-) I’d surely appreciate it.
Kindest regards,
Sister
