Can you imagine how great our country would be
if we gave teachers the benefit of the doubt
the way we do the police?

Can you imagine how strange the inverse would be
if we kept persecuting teachers
but at least treated the cops the same
driving out the few competent ones
with endless standardized testing
and politically-motivated union breakers
watching their every move for the tiniest slip up?

Can you imagine how quickly the social structure would flip
how power would shift from the rich to smart and humane
if educators were allowed to educate
and law-enforcement were forced to obey the law?

The powerful sure can imagine it.
That’s why they’re fighting to make sure
it never ever happens.
Can you imagine it too?
What are you going to do?
What will you do to make it true?

To make it happen.
