We are not pregnant. Wife took a pregnancy test last night and it was negative. Good. I mean… I do want to be a dad someday… and the thought of trying is very sexy to me. But we are nowhere near the place we need to be as individuals, as a couple, or as a financial unit. Maybe if I pass the Bar Exam this time and we get a house/job… maybe this time next year… but there are too many “if”s we’re waiting on right now.

I am admittedly a nerd about many topics. One such topic is Mortal Kombat. I love the franchise and I am super pumped for the next game to be released. It is one of the reasons why I am not happy that the new game will be released 24 hours before the Bar Exam results are announced. Seriously… if the game were to drop this week? Awesome. I could play it for 6 weeks and keep myself sufficiently distracted and preoccupied. And… should the worst come about, I would have played a fair enough amount of the game that I could put it away to study again. As it is? I’m chomping at the bit for the second full week in April even more. And should the worst happen… I’m not sure how I’ll deal. I mean… I’ll be devastated, I’ll be crushed, and (hopefully) I’ll be resolved to not fail again… but at the same time… new game! This past week, the Story trailer was posted. Some people may balk at the idea of a fighting game having a story; but Mortal Kombat has a rich mythology behind it (likely a major reason for my interest) and this new game promises a more epic, more engaging, and (by the looks of it) entirely original story line!

BTW- for those of you who follow voice actors… yes, that is Phil LaMarr, Karen Strassman, Richard Epcar, Michael McConnohie, as well as many others.

Looking at my 2015 goals; a brief rundown.
(1) The Bar Exam Dragon.
I have fought against the icy beast. My armies have been exhausted, my blade dulled from use, and my resources depleted. Hopefully, the beast has been defeated. But it is a seven weeks’ ride to where the creature fell and, while we venture towards it with haste, I cannot help but be apprehensive that we ride not to the corpse of a fallen foe; but merely towards a trap laid by an opponent far more clever than I.

(2) The Kitsune-Demon Wedding Photographer
My home has been assailed by this trickster sprite for too long. Recently, I had thought to be making headway with this creature. We had established dialogue again and a promise of completed work was issued in good faith. But since then, he has gone silent. We have not seen the completed product that was promised us. We have heard of no further progress on the product that was yet to be started. I must re-engage in attempts to continue conversation… after dealing with this for three years, time is up. I refuse to allow our wedding photographer to stay “off the hook” for a single wedding anniversary longer!

(3) The Golden Dragon (Job & Career)
I keep my eyes open. I have scouted opportunities and looked into potential openings but nothing has shown promise yet. However, the next several weeks will be met with an earnest attempt to find some opportunity that may wish to employ me.

(4) The Great Horned Dragon (Marriage)
Clearly, I wish I could find a counselor for us to best resolve the deeper issues. However, as we begin the third month of the year… I have already had sex once this year… perhaps not ideal but considerably better than I am used to.
