Last day of February and we are predicted to receive 4-6” of snow mix. Think mostly snow though. Good Grief I’m tired of winter!! I know most everyone is tired of winter and are ready for some spring temperatures. I have seeds, potting soil, and containers ready to start seeds. I may start a few pots this weekend, but not sure yet.
Supposed to watch 2 grands this afternoon but suspecting it may end up being 3. The oldest has a choir concert in a town about 40 miles from here and I would hope that they would cancel taking our kids there with the forecast. However, one never knows until the last minute. Am prepared to keep the grands overnight if the snow comes as they are suggesting as not sure either parent should come down here and then try and get back out if all the roads are covered and slick. Matter of fact if and when my DIL brings the grands to me I’m going to give her some money to get her a motel room if she will take it. I doubt that either my DIL or my son would stay away from home because of the roads but I wish they would at least consider it. Son could stay with his FIL and his wife IF the roads were closed for any reason and sometimes the interstate does close because of accidents in bad weather. If you pray, please pray for those having to travel today as the later it gets the more snow. The advisory last until tomorrow. :(

Speaking of prayers; a community several miles from here is on the National News and of course the local news. A mass murder in a very small town called Tyrone, Mo. It is reported that a man after discovering his mother had died of natural causes, went to at least 3 homes and shot and killed a total of 7 adults. They reported the names of 4 that he killed and they had the last name. I suspect that two were brothers and their spouses. He then turned the gun on himself and killed himself. I just don’t get it. This world is getting so violent and whether it is because of lack of morals, drugs, selfishness, or mental disease, I am praying for this old world. I have heard many sermons on “the end is near” and for some it is.

The Christians being killed by beheading is cause for us to get our priorities straight and make sure our loved ones and friends have their spiritual lives in order. We are not promised another day, nor are we promised no harm or horrible things will not happen to us. The promise is that when our lives are over, we will have a mansion, built for us and no more tears and no more sorrows.

I fed the dogs this morning and the birds are taking advantage of the dogs being full for the moment. I can see the Red Cardinal and he is so pretty and is joined by his mate.

If the grands do come today, I think I’m going to have them make peanut butter bird seed feeders using empty toilet rolls. I have had the kids do it a year or two ago and they and the birds love them. I have probably a dozen or so saved although I will have them make a couple a piece. Then if they stay overnight, we’ll make a couple more tomorrow.

My dryer and washer are needing my attention and so are my floors. Need to sweep the kitchen and vacuum the LR and my bedroom.

Stay safe and God Bless

**Daughter called me just as finished this entry and said that she had talked to oldest son, her brother, last night and told him to keep the kids away from us. The two youngest have been sick this week and the oldest wasn’t feel great when she talked to him. She is adamant protector of her momma and her little brother, J. I have been praying that the Lord gives J and I protection against whatever bug the kids have had and to intervene with another plan for child care for them if it be His will.

***2d update: DIL called and only Isaiah will be staying with me. The Choir event has been cancelled due to the forecast so the girls will stay home. Isaiah will stay with me until his dad gets off work. I’ve Lysol’d the house to be pro-active. Isaiah however was sick early in the week so I believe we’re safe. Lysol won’t hurt tho.
