Friday Facts (or do I mean Fictions?) in These titles mean nothing.

Ah, if I finish this that mean three days in a row. There mornings in a row even.
Google tells me it’s a positive 5 degrees. Wind is 11 mph from the southeast. I do not guarantee wind direction. I am a bit uncertain about the graphic. Humidity is 54%. Thought I’d add humidity and see what I think of that as a life factor.
I’m in the basement with the fire again. Long story short, there is no long story, just me and the fire in the basement.
I’ve been thinking of language lately.
I came across some phrases that reminded me of my dad.
-
‘What did that set you back?’ when diplomatically asking what something cost.
-
‘Doll’ for a woman, attractive usually, but maybe unimportant.
-
‘I’m much obliged’ when telling someone, a man, usually, someone to be taken seriously, who had done something for him - I’m thinking neighbors who helped - that he was grateful for whatever they had done.
-
‘laid up’ was when someone was sick, out of commission, unable to perform usual duties.
Language is a wonderful thing. We express ourselves. We communicate. We leave things for the next generations. Of all the earth’s creatures we have the most complex methods of using language.
I have to go to work today and I'm not terribly happy about it. The glow is coming off the rose? Oh well. Whatever. I was thinking that a tv or youtube channel should be made of people doing my job. It would be fascinating to watch. Actually most jobs would be fun to watch. As in 'I like work so much that I could watch it all day'.

These are old ones, salvaged for resale from Subaru vehicles, I think. When they were new they were shiny and clean. Underneath they are made from brilliant colored wires. Coded and special. We depend on them every day. Big ones and little ones. Long ones and short ones.
They all represent a lot of care and planning, hope and execution.
Ah, thus is life.
No particular plans for the weekend. I want to eat out somewhere though. I want to sit down at a table and have someone bring me some food. I suppose Fayze’s if we go to LaCrosse and Tbocks if we go to Decorah.
It’s funny when you have nice places that you like, even the wish for adventure hardly ever leads you to someplace new.
I think that’s profound. Not quit sure though.
Friday’s picture?
A city scape from a crisp October day in St. Paul.
