Bridges Over Babylon in The Stuff That's Not Interesting But Is The Most Interesting Stuff I'll Write

There were some rather… intriguing comments to my last entry.

The way I’ve dealt with things is to compartmentalize my life and while it has served me well in the past, I’m seeing that I have to integrate a lot of these things into a daily routine. There will be no coherence to my life until I deal with the issues that have plagued me for more than half my life.

The way I’ve dealt with these things is by finding little workarounds. The problem with shortcuts and quick-fixes is that they not only short circuit the pain, they short circuit the good things, too. Pretty soon you find yourself soaring over paradise and wondering why you didn’t take a chance.

So that’s what I’m trying to do.
