Teaching the Cats to Spell…? in Everyday Ramblings

It is not every day you get a letter from your cats so I thought I’d share. :)

It turns out that in spite of the call from Seattle Repertory Theater saying that they would not include Miss E. in the workshop were she to show up on Sunday, she charmed them into taking her when she showed up just after they called so she is not grounded after all. But I bet there was quite the talk that evening.

Miss E. had an audition for a summer modern ballet workshop in San Francisco on Saturday afternoon and because of all the crazy running around getting ready for the big school dance in the evening no mention was made of how that went.

She got in. We have our fingers crossed for a scholarship. Otherwise I do not know how this is going to happen. The deposit cleared for her three weeks at French Immersion Camp this summer as well. This will be her third year there and she loves it. It is out on one of the San Juan Islands. Wow.

Also, a decision was made yesterday that we are going to organize a memorial in April or May so all the folks who were touched by my sister’s activism can meet each other and share stories. Kes has volunteered to coordinate that with my sister’s best friend. It is a good thing the cats did so well this weekend because clearly I will need to leave them again in a few months.

I am getting close to breaking even financially on the room rental for my public yoga class. I really enjoyed teaching it last night. They are a good group and work hard. I had a new woman, who said she was testing me to see if this was what her friends and her were looking for. She told me afterwards that she was quite impressed and discovered some things about one of her shoulders she had been previously unaware of. She is a perfect match demographically for the rest of the students and it is easier to teach a homogeneous group.

I need to keep marketing but I think finally this class is going to be a go.

I have a dentist appointment this afternoon and have all my digits crossed that everything looks good. I would so much rather buy some new shoes or have Dr. Bob give me a massage than spring for yet more dental work.

Mostly though I just wanted to share Carlo and Diego’s note.

Yes, there is a part of my heart that sees dental expenditure as wasted money, but I've suffered the consequences of poverty ---> dental neglect and don't want to do that again.

I'm not sure if Miss E's charming people into doing things is a sign of future showbiz success, but I might be chagrined if it were me trying to teach her that actions have consequences. Maybe in the light of the bereavement it will be a positive thing. Goodness, what a fortunate wee person! 3 weeks of French Immersion on some Islands .. woh.

Lovely kitty note. My cats talk but do not write - yet.
Sympathy for the loss of your sister. I hadn't realized until yesterday's entry.

Love the kitty's note...of course they love being your kitties. Glad to hear you are breaking even; perhaps a bit of profit might soon be in the offing. Hope you don't have to invest in dental.
