I know it has been a minute since I’ve reported here. Whew wee…a lot has gone on.
Last time I wrote, I talked about my grandmother’s passing. That was a very difficult time. However, I soothed myself by realizing that she wants me to keep going, live to old, old age, and make my dreams come true. That helped me a lot in not being sad and moping around.
What has been taking me so long to update on a consistent basis is two huge objectives I’ve been doing:
One, recording family history that my younger aunt, HM, has been sharing with me.
Two, still I am unpacking the books and arranging them on my shelves.
In five days, it will be two months since we moved into the new place. I’ve gotten my room organized to put my library up. I cleared the kitchen from the stacked sacks of books I had. Now, I am almost finished clearing Rupert’s room with the sacks and bins of books I had in his office. I have twelve more bins to go in his room. Once all of those bins have been unpacked, then, I have left is the living to get my anthologies and reference books put up. The only major unpacking I will have to do is get the bonus room unpacked and organized.
Viola! I am finished with the majority of unpacking.
Once that is done, then, we can finish unpacking and organizing nick knacks, and give the rental a good clean.
I would really love to get the books from the living unpack, organized, and put away in my office. In order to achieve that, I would have to finish unpacking the books from Rupert’s office, have those books and the rest of the books in my office organized, and then, start and finish unpacking the books from the living room. This will take this evening, tomorrow, and Sunday to get all of this done. It would be a huge accomplishment if I could get all of this done. Then, I can start writing more.
In other news, my thesis advisor contacted which I am taking a good sign. She asked me how I was doing, and I replied back about my moving and such. I told her that I thought about it, and I want to finish my thesis.
I do want to finish my thesis. There was a time when I felt uncertain about it because I thought I could not do it. I think I just stop believing that I could do it.
Now, being around PhD students at work has made me realize if they can finish their degree, then I owe it to myself to finish my degree as well.
So, the three goals on my mind are:
1 Finish unpacking my books and desk office supplies and get my rooms organized.
2 Start Working on my Thesis
3 Continue recording my family history.
And still to be continued…I got a lot more to tell later.
Cheers,
