Freddy & Einstein in Mature Size Bites

I try to really make an effort not to eat expensive lunches. Usually, my lunch range is from $5.00 to $8.00. Lunch is quite expensive these days, and if I am going to pay that much for it, it better be damned good.

Well, yesterday and today took the case.

As I was returning to the office with the used Netbook I ordered from a third party seller on Amazon, I decided to try the new Freddy’s restaurant that one of my close friends told me about. She told me she tried it a few weeks ago and had a California burger.

I decided to get the double cheeseburger combo. That combo was over $8.00.

The fries were pretty cool and were very good. They were cut horseshoe string and seasoned quite well.

The burger was another story.

I didn’t think the burger was worth the money. I felt like it was a little overcooked, and it did not have enough vegetable on it to sustain you. It also had…

Sweet pickles on it. I like sour pickles on my burger even though the sweet pickles weren’t bad.

Anyway, I gave that meal three out of five stars. I would say the meal was worth $5.00 not over $8.00.
Next up…Einstein’s.

Einstein’s a fancy bagel and coffee shop…very different from Starbucks. They actually make you bagels…and bagel sandwiches and such. We had one at GCSU, and so I ate there often. I really loved their bagel sandwiches.

I don ‘t know if it was it was a lot of patrons in there at the same time, but I was not too impressed.

First and foremost, the cashier who wrong me up got my order wrong. I wanted a Lox bagel sandwich and instead he rung me up for the fancier salmon bagel sandwich was two dollars more. Yet, I didn’t complain because I was under the impression it was going to be awesome. I had a choice for a side…a fruit cup, potato salad, or chips. I choose the fruit cup.

Then, I got a medium orange juice which was close to three dollars. So, the entire meal was over $11.

Well, let me tell you that I was quite disappointed, and I would say that this meal was worth $7.

The presentation of the bagel was really sloppy even though all the taste was there. The taste of the bagel was extraordinary, but the way they sloppily threw it together was not. They also did not ask me did I want to eat here or to have it to go. They put in a paper bag, and I felt weird how they treated me. I felt put off a bit disrespected.

There wasn’t much in the fruit cup. What I got full from is the ORANGE JUICE.

I give this experience a 2 and ½ stars. I mean it is ridiculous to throw a sandwich like that together. We are talking about a fish sandwich made with salmon, tomato, cucumbers, capers, and cream cheese…and it is a very expensive sandwich. You are going to throw the sandwich together like it is fucking Manwich Sloppy Joe.

I think I am going to write a review letter to the actual company.

I don’t know if I want to go there again…I really want to try their lox bagel…and what I got was the higher price sandwich slop together.

Oh what a week. What a week.

Cheers,
S
