Too much time in Adventures in paradise

I had to work with him today.
Haha.
Yeah. It went relatively okay until I finally had a chance to take a break around 50 minutes before my shift was due to end, and he goes “You haven’t taken one yet!?” When I explained I hadn’t had a chance to, he goes, “Make time to have one!”
I managed to keep my mouth shut, but my mind immediately thought, “Yeah, there’s your work ethic right there! BAM!”
I was starving, I had to. I knew there was a chance I’d have to work with him today. The grocery manager wasn’t working to separate us fighting haha. I spent most of the shift avoiding him. I was only doing 5-hours. Why not? I still need to find money to pay for this stupid fucking suit for a ceremony that is illegal for me. Ergh. Not that I have anyone to marry haha!
I’m good. It’s been fucking HOT lately, my GOD. I leave work in the afternoon’s and the heat just strikes me as I walk out the door. I am covered in sweat just from the short walk home. I’ve only just stopped peeling from that sunburn I got on New Year’s Day. Yep, took this fella 17 days to stop peeling haha. At least it’s finally gone now. But man, 6 years of working nights will do that to me, I guess. However I managed to sleep through 6 Summers in this heat I do not know. The aircon has pretty much been on constantly for the past week in this house.
Jeff’s still living here. Ergh. As annoying as always. Andrew wants me to contact some new guy to come around for us to interview, which means organizing when Nick and I will both be free at the same time. Nick and I talked a lot more before Jeff moved back in, but nowadays we’re both avoiding Jeff, so therefore avoiding each other haha. I still like Nick though. He brings home free leftover food from this cafe sometimes. Last week it was cupcakes. This week it was cookies. I’m gonna get fat :P
Speaking of, I’m glad to have a gym card again. I remember my mum telling me that my dad started to stack on weight after he turned 30, and here I am at 31. Yesterday I was laying down in just my underwear (I do that a lot around the house as it’s just too fucking hot to wear anything else) and I looked at my stomach and patted it (Homer Simpson style). Of course I don’t have a fat belly, but it’s bigger than I’m used to, and I did have to wonder if what my mum told me has any merit. I mean, genes don’t lie. Then again, I’m glad I didn’t end up with my dad’s backwards-thinking personality. I like to think my mum gave me that part.
My friend Matt, who now lives over in London, sent me a video on Facebook messenger yesterday of him getting fucked on the dancefloor. LOL. I couldn’t believe it. The music was playing and I could see the other patrons dancing around him. This HAD to be Berlin. Sure enough, it was. I don’t think I know a hornier guy than Matt haha, so that was rather interesting to put my rather lackluster sex-life into perspective. Try doing that in my country and you’d probably end up in jail haha. Not that I haven’t been sucked off on a dancefloor before, but that was Mardi Gras many years ago and I was drunk and that was different. Somehow.
I still don’t know if I want to go to Mardi Gras this year. I figured if I do go, it’d only be for a short time. I’d have to work the Saturday and finish by 4pm, but the party wouldn’t start until 10pm. I’d easily be able to make it, I think I’ve worked out. It’s only an hour flight. I mean, it’s not like I go out in Brisbane much anymore. I should just attend the big parties in other cities every now and then. Maybe I can get myself on the Sunrise morning cameras again haha.
I went to Chermside (or as I call it, Spermside) on Thursday evening, straight after work to catch up with Moe, his boyfriend and Steve. It was Steve’s birthday as well. I was surprised that my Charlie Hides tickets arrived in the mail the day after I ordered them, so I could actually bring them with me to show Steve, as I’ve bought him one as his birthday present. I bought 4 of them, and they were $34 each for a one-hour show, so I don’t exactly know how I’m going to go getting Moe and Carly to pay me for the other tickets, as I’ve asked them if they want to go and have only gotten ‘Maybe’ responses. Ergh. I hate ‘maybe’s’. They might as well be ‘No’s’. So I’m thinking I’ll want answers from them by a week before the show, so I can off them online or something. I really should learn to just go to shows by myself every single time because there’s no way I can rely on others, especially when it’s a show by someone no-one even knows about except me, so they are only going on my word. I can just see I’ll have two tickets that will go to waste. It’s happened in the past. I had a spare ticket to both Taylor Swift and Aqua, and no-one wanted them, so, you know…
I got over it. It’s only money. And really, on ticket is for me and one a gift, so I’d only really be out of pocket $68 haha. I figured if Carly can’t go, I’d offer the other ticket to Moe’s boyfriend, as that would make sense. I like asking Carly if she wants to attend comedy gigs with me though, as she’s good company. She came to Margaret Cho with me, although she knows her, so that’s a bit different.
I had a wild-tangent thought today where I was wondering how I’d go about living in Tasmania. Haha. Completely random, I know. I think it was the sheer heat beaming down on me on the walk home and I was just trying to think of somewhere cold. Could I survive there? I’d have pretty much no sex life, as gays as as scarce as they were when I lived out in the country, especially ones my type! And I do love it there. Plus buying a house would be more feasible also, as they are a quarter of the price than what they are on the mainland, generally. Of course, I’d have to have a job down there, and something to keep me occupied, and the beach would be out of the question!
You can see I really put a bit of thought into this today haha. Damn heat’s getting to me.
I’ve been spending a lot of time on the music forum lately, doing charts and generally laughing with the other members on there. I’ve been on quite a few forums in my life, mostly music-related or to do with certain artists. I met one of my good friends through a Billy Gilman forum in the 90’s that no longer exists. Anyway, so I’ve been doing a lot of charts, including a combined Country chart from all the members who wish to participate in it (as I follow country music a bit), and I realised I just compiled my 52nd chart, which means it’s been going for a year now. So much time working it all out and stuff, and when you add on my own personal music chart (which is a top 100) each week, every week, that’s a hell of a lot of time I spend online doing my hobby. To think when I was a kid, I used to write out my favourite songs in order on a piece of paper haha. I have no idea why it’s always been so fun for me to do, so I guess by finding a few others on this forum, I’ve found like-minded people. My friend Bailey used to do them also, but I don’t think he still does. He just works out his from how many ‘plays’ each song has had on whatever music platform he uses. I don’t do that. I just know my favourites each week. And I’ve gone and made things even more difficult for myself by realizing Youtube has a playlist feature, so I’ve gone and added each song in order HAHA. I think I have too much time on my hands. But hey, it makes me happy and music has always fascinated me. Just yesterday I realized that one of my favourite songs of all time, Celine Dion’s “It’s All Coming Back To Me Now” is actually a COVER FROM 1989!!! Of course, I had to find that cover, and I was stunned at how good it is, AND that it only reached #51 on the UK charts. Maybe it was too good for it’s time? That’s the thing about music. How a cover can take off over an original. I mean how unfair would that be for the original artist? Especially if they wrote it! The same happened with “I Will Always Love You.” Whitney’s shitted all over Dolly Parton’s original.
But check this out Pandora’s Box version out. I’m posting it here because I didn’t know it existed!
And 28,000 views? I’ll bet Celine’s has millions.
So yeah, the Youtube thing I did, I might as well post. It takes forever, so I doubt I’ll be doing this very often, but hey why not? I just added in static-videos of the songs I couldn’t find audio-videos for, which was basically Taylor Swift because she’s gone all anti-Spotify and anti-everything-else that doesn’t make her a dime. I think there were three songs all up, but every other song is there. There’s 100 songs, and I listed them in order from 100-1. I really wish there was an ‘edit’ option to just move songs around on the Playlist, but there wasn’t, so it was a painstaking add each song manually haha ergh. Once again, too much time. And now I’m on a few days off, unless I get called in again. I think I’ll catch up on a lot of TV though and just tune out for a while. Still technology I guess. Seems to consume my life these days.

I’ll leave it there. I don’t expect anyone to seriously sit through 100 songs HAHA. I tend to just put it on and listen to it while I do stuff, and it’s good because I know I like every song, wheras with the radio or anywhere else, it’s taking a gamble and they are sure to play something I hate.
