Saturday.

It works, first thing I opened ‘Word’ it was like the keypad wasn’t connected, I could see financial numbers spinning in my head! After looking here and there with no response I turned Word off, then restarted it and here I am; for a few minutes it took the gloss of a dull Saturday morning!

By lunch time our skies had cleared, but by darkness the skies were still clear and the stars were out, but the night air was coming from the north; the only description cold – unless your in Canada – probably by there weather it is a mild night!

Sunday.

After a quick look at the coming weeks weather I wouldn’t mine in their mega computers were wrong, today we are forecasted an on and off wet day, followed by some very wet day’s through most of the week.

The last few weeks I’ve been waking quite early, so I’ve got up and walked round to see what’s about, it’s me about as everyone is sleeping. I do know the dogs pattern through the night, Lola has a fixed pattern once she has settled, she has four beds she use’s over night, there is bed in the kitchen under a table next to a radiator; a very Westie chose that one!

In the lounge she has a bed on the floor close to the fire, then there is a blanket on the settee, some times Ziggy will sleep close to Lola on the settee; but not to close as Lola is rather territorial! Then there is Sweetheart’s reclining chair with footstool, that is quite a favourite and there is defiantly no room for a large friend!

Ziggy sleeps just about any where, a bed is rarely used by him, only if it is a very cold night well Zingy choose a bed, mostly he likes an area with out a carpet; Lola as never joined Zingy in his hardy sleeping arrangements! The back door is often a place he sleeps, and various parts of the lounge, there are times I don’t see him; so he must be upstairs – a sine there has been noisy weather over night!

I can do these night time wonders through the bungalow, peep out at the sky in hope to see the stars, then go back to my bad and be asleep in a few minuets, perhaps this night time routine I have acquired is part of the gathering years! I don’t sleep in the afternoon yet like Dad did – enjoy even, but I do fall asleep watching television sometimes, that could be me or the standard of programming these days!

This Sunday it was Lola’s turn to go to agility, I think there were seven or eight dogs at the class, as usual I stayed in the car listening to the radio, it was dry for the class, but under foot it was still muddy from the rain over the last few days. As I sat there I noticed activity in the bushes, it was a small plump bird, I had my Canon G10 camera with me, I held the camera on the top of the steering wheel, I waited until it was still, I had remembered to turn the flash off, that would have seen it off ……….

I’m not a twitchier but I like seeing birds about, Dad was the bird watcher and he was very knowledgeable, alas he’s not with us now; so I’m using RSPB’s bird identifier.

I think it is a female Bullfinch, she was feeding in the bushes, hoping from branch to branch, and as it says in the ‘bird identifier’ has her beak full.

I’m ok with these images not having a DSLR and longer lens with me! I was quite close to the bullfinch, waving a larger camera and lens about it could have sent her away, as it was she went when I turned my camera off, the low battery warning sine was showing; but I did manage ten exposures, five were worth working over in Photoshop; and three made it here!

Driving back to Perranporth I was happy to be going in to Perranporth, as there were trackers coming up Budnic Hill towards us, soon all we could see was vintage trackers climbing the hill slowly, in and among the row of trackers were the odd car with a driver with an odd expression [why didn’t they do this another day expression] I thought they were quite interesting, an easy thing to say with an empty road ahead!

I was impressed with the gathering in Paris this afternoon, they expected one million people to walk through the city, I’ve heard the number was nearer to three millions plus forty heads of state, Kings and Queens. Quite impressive, such a number of people marching through a city with out problems.
