"TELL HER?" in "RESTLESS: POETICALLY-SPEAKING"

How do you tell her
that love will find a way or another?
She’ll just look back at you and smile,
saying, “I used to believe that as a child.”

How do you tell her
that things will look up and get better?
She’ll agree: “Of course they do.
That’s nothing new.”

How do you tell her
to stop hiding behind the shadows?
Go into the light where love just shines and shows.
But her only response is: “I know.”

How do you tell her
to just cut it out?
She’s been clouded by her own doubts.
But she worries: “What if my sanity is something I can’t live without?”

How do you tell her?
Do you think she just won’t bother?
She does listen to you,
but in the end – she’s the only one who knows what to do.

Maybe you need to stop telling her.
She’s done with the same old, repetitive lectures.
Just pray that she’ll be as happy and healthy
as she can be, you see?
No need to worry.
She’s no longer a baby.
