The visit in blackpropaganda

We were all organised to have an old friend who we have not see for a very long time over for a meal today - he contacted us in November saying he would be with other friends and were we around. Great stuff.
But we had no word from him until sending a message via his son - and he apologised profusely for not getting in touch. Then when discussing arrangements it seems he was expecting to stay with us over night before going home tomorrow. I certainly never got that from his phonecall and I think he was so hesitant I never picked it up - in fact all his arrangements seemed a bit sporadic.
So he is being brought down at some point - don’t know when - and goes off tomorrow - not sure when. So we will see how things develop. At least we have the food organised - and we have a bed - and I am sure he will fir in around things. He lost his wife in the spring and I guess he is s til; getting himself sorted - should be OK.
We would like to walk in the crisp sunshine today after all the gloom.
Anyway better to know what is going on rather than stuck in London not able to get a train because of over running engineering work - or in the French Alps where snow has led to massive disruption. No good news!
