It goes against the old rule “Work before play” but since I knew that today was going to be a BIG work day; I spent my first few hours of the morning playing video games and doing some fun reading. Of course… that hurt my eyes for some reason. I think I need to focus on hydration and sleep as part of my Healthy Routines because… well, maybe my eyes and my skin wouldn’t feel so dry.

I did get a little Bar Prep done before work, though. Today’s category is Criminal Law. Now, this is the area of my diagnostic bar exam where I did the best. Not to mention that it is also the type of law I currently deal with at work and is the kind of law I want to go into if/when I get a Big Boy Job. So… I have to confess a slight nervousness for when I was taking the pre-class exams today. If I did poorly on those exams; it means that my diagnostic bar exam score was either a fluke or a random convergence of fate. Obviously, I didn’t want that to be the case.

Before I could do much studying, though, I had to get to work. Ah, Monday. That means Court. But it also means when I got to work, I was greeted by Molly. I’m still conflicted about that. I mean… it is kind of annoying that she tags along with me to court. On the other hand, it means I can dump all the work on her and get paid to just be there. Though, that does make me feel like my already pointless job is even more so. I’m still making that whole situation more complicated than it needs to be, as well. I know for a fact that, even if I weren’t married, I would never be Molly’s boyfriend. Yeah, partly because I don’t think she’d agree to go out with me; but mostly because the more time I spend with her, the less I like her personality. She is absolutely an okay person, and I don’t mean to speak ill of her… it is just that her personality doesn’t mesh with mine in a way that would make for anything more than friends. That being said… I was still compelled to try to make myself look good today before I went in to work. Maybe it is my ego, maybe it is the fact that she is an attractive woman, maybe it is simply a desire to keep a fantasy alive that she could find me attractive… either way, today is one of the last times I will see her in a while. At least, that is, unless work screws up and schedules me while I am supposed to be studying for the bar!

The actual court day went quickly and painlessly. Another under 25 year old kid with a long felony history with a brood… 8 kids this time. Yeah. Never going to understand that world! I also had what I hope will not become a regular occurrence. You see, I somewhat nodded off during court while Molly and I were in the office. So… not a big deal, nobody can see me, it doesn’t offend anyone, I didn’t miss anything anyway because Molly was there.... but it becomes awkward when that nocturnal penile tumescence enters the scene… as it has been doing more and more lately. Just… wood at work always seems a bit embarrassing and, frankly, a bit too much like puberty. However, as opposed to a five hour day in court like usual… today was finished by 3 pm! So I had plenty of time to study and do other stuff.... that.... ehrm… may or may not have gotten done. lol.

I sent out an e-mail to my wedding photographer. You see, for a lot of different reasons, I’ve been letting my wife and my father deal with this jerkoff in an attempt to get the damned product we paid for… the product we paid for three and a half years ago (technically, specifically, 1269 days). It is time I stepped in directly. As I said before, I want to get this damned thing taken care of before this time next year. To that end, I will hound this guy like Batman on the Joker! My e-mail was… jovial, if professional. I reminded him of the wedding, told him what a good job he did, told him that we had looked forward to further business with him… until he didn’t deliver. Then I explained how I am understanding and compassionate; but I want what I paid for. Finally, I gave him my contact information and promised that I would also be phoning him… in order to make certain that we talked and developed an understanding. And all of this I sent from my Law School E-Mail account that (conveniently) lists my Graduation Date, my achievements, and my organizations as the signature. We’ll see what happens. Because I really don’t want to go to court on this. That in itself is a joke… I have a specialty in litigation but I don’t want to go to court, lol.

Exercise for the day: Elliptical Machine. 30 minutes. 4 miles.
Weigh In: 203 lbs.

BAH! I didn’t study like I wanted to today. Yeah, I know there is still daylight (figuratively speaking) to burn… but I have to unload the dishes, do the dishes, and do a few more loads of laundry. Fingers crossed… all of Criminal Law tomorrow!!
