I hate cardio.
A lot of lifting philosophies say you don’t need cardio, or even shouldn’t do it. That HIIT and lifting itself does more for raising metabolism than steady state. That diet matters more. Maybe so, but I consider calories burned to be calories burned. I can’t do HIIT before a squat day, that’s just asking for diminished returns.
There’s also the axiom that if you suck at something, you should train it and get better at it. If I can ever run 6 mph for an hour on a treadmill like some of the cardio bunnies, THEN we can talk about cardio interfering with lifting.
Saturday, 12-13-14
Cycle I, Week II: Cardio
Yesterday's nutrition: Okay
Last night's sleep: slight insomnia, 7 hours
GYM STUFF:
Treadmill: 5 minute warm-up, cooldown
3 minutes @ 4.5mph, 2 minutes @ 3.3 mph; 3% incline +30 seconds to run time
6 rounds: 30 minutes total
If there is a hell, it has treadmills and ellipticals.
Boy would be nice to get good enough where I can have an “easy” day of cardio. Is there such a thing short of just walking?
