The question here is always - ‘are you going away for Christmas?’ - like going to family, or relations - or ‘are you having visitors?’ and it is great to say - ‘no- just quietly here on our own’.
December is the worst time for travelling - and when you think of the chaos caused by a half hour blip in Air Travel Control for the SE of England who wants to go anywhere?
I remember the first Christmas we had on our own with a six moth old baby - wonderful time - except he had six month colic and seemed to cry forever - so we spent Christmas Day afternoon walking him a round town in his pram, while being a little drunk from our lunch. Good times!!!
In previous years we have shared a Christmas lunch with friends who live round the corner, but that seems to be off the agenda this year - I think they want to do their own thing too.
That does not mean we do not have things to do - there are still cards to be addressed and posted - we get so pissed off after doing about 15 that we just say that’s enough - but there will be more done today. Then the scraggy old tree is indoors waiting to be covered with stuff - although by the time is is all on there will be hardly any needles. And it is a good time to so some clearing up - which means I have to confront the issue of what to do with boxes of books in odd corners!!!
At least I do not have the crises which people I read on PB seem to have - well, I hope nothing comes out to bite my bum.
Thought for the Day

I never know what to do with boxes of books and other bric-a-brac in odd corners...

The only way is to bite the bullet and throw it away - however - not easy!

hahaha @ Meme.
Christmas day has always been an "immediate family" day for us, and I always liked it that way. Though, I have to admit, I do love the big Christmas that happens at my husband's parents' home. So much chaos, food, booze, and family fun.
