Today marks the beginning of renewed study for the Bar Exam! My goal, other than to pass obviously, is to get a total of 400 hours of studying done before exam day on February 22.
Today started early, with a diagnostic bar exam. It was to take between 4 to 5 hours… but it is me. I’ve never understood why a multiple choice test should ever take more than roughly 2 minutes per question. I finished the diagnostic in about two hours. Good news/bad news situation: I got 50% correct on the diagnostic! So… I know more than the average lay person; but less than the average expert. Just shows that studying will be important. I know it may not make a lot of sense but… I wanted to share my breakdowns in part because it most definitely shows my specialty… I have a special certificate in Litigation… and it shows.
Of questions about
Contracts; I answered 62% of them correctly
Evidence, I answered 64% of them correctly
Constitutional Law, I answered 29% of them correctly
Criminal Law and Procedure, I answered 73% of them correctly
Property and Estate Law, I answered 43% of them correctly
Torts, I answered 27% of them correctly
Civil Procedure, I answered 52% of them correctly.
So… criminal litigation- I’ve got. The processes by which to file suit in civil court… difficult, but fairly well understood. It is merely the subject of those civil disputes that I really need to bone up on!
Hour Goal: 400 Hours
Hours Today: 3
Hours Remaining: 397
Roughly, Time Until Exam: 76 Days
