Migration in Things That I'm Grateful For

You know, for some reason, a lot of people from deep into my past are moving to Los Angeles and I'm really excited about it.

Joy has been a friend of mine for nine years and I really adore her positivity and ability to get through things. I've seen her through her early twenties when I hung out at the bar she worked at, I was there when she got married and then subsequently divorced, I was there when she got her first taste of freedom back. She's been a consistent friend which is something that hasn't always happened. She's been down here for about a week and I still haven't had a chance to see her, but I know that I will and that it'll be glorious!!!

Also, Richard is moving down here in about 9 days. I'm so excited, he and I haven't lived in the same city since 2004. He's still one of my best friends, and although I always made it a task to visit him in San Francisco at least once a year, I wasn't always in the best spirits when I went to see him because I hate San Francisco so much. He and I had so much fun together when we were younger, we really turned the screws on everyone and were the most unlikely friends ever. I mean, I'm kind of uptight (like an English lawyer) and he's a loud bossy Asian drag queen (even when he's not in drag you can tell he does drag, it's one of those situations). We've seen tough times together, and I'm excited that he'll be here.

I'm blessed to have two of my strongest allies back in my life in a real way. Now I need to get everyone together. My whole LA crew. Mikey, Jen, Angie, Bel, Richard and Joy in one place for a night of fun and frolic. It would be great... maybe I should do a Christmas party?
