Happenings in In the Meadow

Today I need to go to the post office to mail a first birthday card to my cousin’s daughter. While I am out will get something for lunch and stop at the drug store.

On Friday Kayla asked if she could stay after school on Monday to audition for the school musical. We told her she could and on Monday she went to the auditions. Yesterday she found out she is going to be in the show chorus. She has done church plays before, but this will be her first formal production. This weekend, before she went to the auditions, we talked about how doing a musical is a lot of work and a big commitment. Kayla said that she has been planning to audition for the show for a while. This may explain some of her nervousness lately. I think this will be good for her. It will help her learn to deal with performance anxiety. The show is called the Music Man. The parents are going to receive a letter with the practice times.

Timmy is in the school chorus. Both of the twins are interested in music. Timmy’s first hockey game is next week. He is looking forward to it. Aaron is going to a birthday party on Saturday. The party is at a local fun center. Aaron received an invitation in the mail. It looks like a great time. I wish I could go, ha ha.
