“Briefs: The Second Coming” was SUCH an entertaining show. It was completely random and really camp and so so professionally talented. I described it previously as a cross between Priscilla and RuPaul’s Drag Race, and it is, but critics describe it as between Cirque Du Soliel and RuPaul’s Drag Race, which is probably just as accurate.
The show opened with a lot of feathers and it didn’t take long for all the guys to get down to their underwear. The lights went down and all we could see was the white feathers twirling in beautiful formations between the 6 guys and their white underwear gyrating all over the place.
The music in the show was stunning. It was like being in a club, which was kinda cool because that’s how they got their start, 18 months ago in West End, also here in Brisbane. It used to be a club night with cheap $2 cocktails. Man, I wish I’d heard about that!
Of course my favourite guy was also the crowd favourite. He was only 20 and from Broome in Western Australia. Gorgeous thing he was. All of the performers were so fit and flexible.
The show didn’t have a plot or a story as such. Each guy just came out and did their circus acts to the music. The tranny MC was hilarious. It still flowed quite well.
I was amused watching the 20yo dressed up as a schoolboy, which by the end of the scene was him twirling a yoyo around with nothing but his barely-fabric-covered penis.
Man he looked hung too!
There was one scene that left me with my mouth hanging wide open. One of the guys played a monkey and another laid on the ground (in drag) whilst we all got to see the monkey guy’s bare ass as he climbed on top of her. I thought, “No. Way!”
Yep. We saw drops of “shit” fall from his arse onto her face.
It was clearly done for shock factor and it definitely worked. I was trying to figure out what it was they used to make it look so realistic! Soft-serve chocolate ice-cream?
Anyway, they were really pushing raffle ticket sales all throughout the start and middle of the show. All they would say was the prize was a “Sir-prize”. I didn’t buy one. I didn’t realise to bring extra cash with anyway. The people next to me bought like 15.
So anyway, it came time to draw the raffle. The tranny MC drew it and out walked the 20yo in only tight white underwear. He laid down on a bench with his head facing us and the MC put a lime in his mouth.
The winner got to do a tequila-shot off of the hot twink’s body!
Man!
Some guy won the raffle and the MC joked that he’d have to lick the salt off the dried cum from the twink’s stomach from his wank the night before!
Hilarious and so hot to watch. Of course the guy took longer than necessary biting the lime from the 20yo’s mouth.
The tranny MC made no regrets in telling us they completely exploited the guy for us haha.
Later on the 20yo did an act juggling hats with his hands, feet, body and head that was pretty impressive.
Then the show ended with this huge glass birdbath and some famous burlesque guy who did tricks and twirls from suspended ropes whilst splashing in the water. People seated up the front would have gotten saturated! Luckily they all seemed to have clear protective plastic sheets for prevention. I guess they knew.
There was a ton more in the show. It was a very impressive, yet random and hilarious production. Apparently they are doing another show called “Club Briefs” that is on at 10pm this and next Saturday that is a completely different show and has acts that they weren’t allowed to show in the 7:30 show!
My god, I HAVE to see that. Wondering if I can get out of work to attend.
I caught the ferry home, which I always love doing at night. I stood at the front and just let the air hit my face.
Its since turned over midnight and I randomly bought a 4-pack of Mifori. Not that I have anyone to celebrate it with, so I just cracked open two to myself at exactly midnight to reign in my 31st year on this planet. Man, looking at that number, I’m starting to feel old.
It’s still an exciting feeling being my birthday. I always get that same giddy feeling I got as a kid. I still have little idea on what I’m going to do for it. I’ve already skipped gym in favour of the Midori, so that’s not good lol. Ah well.
I should probably get some sleep so I can enjoy my day.
Oh, I went shopping this morning, just getting my weekly groceries, and the grocery manager saw me and said hi. He then asked me how I was going for hours over at my store. Apparently he’s as desperate for staff as my store is and wants to know if I can help his store out! Lol!
Anyway, I said I was fine but always happy to help out, and he told me to have a think about it.
Interesting.
I just didn’t want to tell him I could do so during my birthday week haha.
