Lorelei is silly. She started making raspberries with her mouth last week and today she was nursing and did one and smiled. lol!
She can also move herself pretty well, on her back and her tummy. She tried a puree yesterday and liked it a lot. I don’t remember how to have an infant because I am not sure how often she should have purees, but I am only giving her a couple bites of one once a day for now.
Cannon was having an off-day yesterday. At daycare he hit the other kids and threw toys. Even after a nap yesterday he was being rough with Lorelei and pinching her, and trying to hit her when I reminded him to use nice touches. I was trying to give him some one-on-one time with me to see if it would help. hopefully today is a better day for him.
I saw a dinosaur toy set that I wanted to get him from Costco but he isn’t really into dinosaurs. I am though! :P
I need to get Cannon a trampoline thing or something. he is supposed to be able to jump at his age, but he doesn’t seem to want to. we model jumping for him often and I help him physically jump, but he seems kind of scared of it unless I am holding onto him. :P
He was a great listener at the store yesterday. he held my hand and I let him walk by himself and he stayed with me and listened to direction. it’s a big improvement because he never used to listen to direction. :) I also pretended not to know where his shoes were yesterday when we were leaving and asked him to help me find them, and he went right over and got them. :D
Hopefully we can continue that trend!
My back and legs are killing me, thanks to Jillian Michaels and her intense workouts… but I think of it as a positive thing since I worked muscles I don’t normally work, and that is a good thing. I’m going to do more today.
I am eating dessert for breakfast from Thanksgiving because I am an adult and stuff.
Jacob works at an urban alternative school in Kansas City, MO and the kids did a silent protest for 15 minutes before class last week after the Ferguson decision was reached. Some of the teachers were annoyed by it, and there was a protest that was going on that they thought the students might partake in, and they thought it was stupid.
Jacob didn’t say anything, but it makes me SO angry that the [all white] teachers think it’s “annoying” that the students protested (silently and peacefully, mind you). I feel proud that they protested. Jacob was too. They are exercising a basic right they know they have, and the only way to enact change IS to protest. The only way to enact change IS to annoy/anger people who don’t get it and think the status quo is “okay.”
I found this yesterday and it was a good read:
