Let’s start with the weather. It has been the usual crazy end of November weather. Saturday topped out at 72 degrees. Saturday night was a night in the mid-sixties. Yesterday it was in the sixties. Last evening it started cooling off. Last night it was 40 degrees in the van at midnight. I woke up to the sound of rain this morning at 5:20 am, and 30 degrees. I went back to sleep. The second time I woke up at 8:20am it was to the sound of ice scrapers at work on windows outside in the parking lot, and 24 degrees in the van. I went back to bed.

I finally decided to crawl out of bed and the van at 10:20am. It was 24 degrees in the van. I went up to the apartment and put on a pot of coffee and ate a bowl of cereal and drink my first cup of coffee. Jassy was needing to go out and run a few errands so I decided to hitch a ride down Cherry St. to the student union.

Right now at 1:24pm it is 25 degrees out side. Just about 50 degrees cooler than the day before yesterday. Crazy.

In less than seventy-two hours I surely won’t have to deal with cold or ice.

I only have a few things left to do before the flight out Thursday morning. And I’ll probably wait until Wednesday to do them.

The van needs to be cleared out the rest of the way and re-configured back into just a regular vehicle. I’ll take down the towels I’ve clothes pinned to the curtains to block out the light. I’ll fold up the bedding and turn the bed back into a bench seat. And I’ll take the last armful of stuff up to the apartment. And that’ll be it. I’ll be done with the van. I may also need to put the battery charger on it because it hasn’t been started and run for a couple of months or more.

I’ve still got too much stuff. I’ve really tried to get rid of crap but it’s mostly been a fail so far. I’ll be storing what I have left in Jassy’s extra closet- the big duffel of winter clothes, my full-sized backpack, my briefcase, my shoulder bag, and my new knapsack.

I’ve decided to take my roller carry-on instead of my knapsack. I won’t be needing the knapsack while I’m at Mom’s. And it will be easier to live out of the suitcase for the three months I’ll be there. Also, I couldn’t figure out how to get the French press into the knapsack.
