First post op dr appointment in In the Kingdom of Suzu

Saw the plastic surgeon today and he is VERY pleased with how things are progressing. He took two of the drains out which really surprised me and snipped some sutures that were peeking out. The rest will be absorbed. I will see him next Wednesday for the first of the filling of the expanders. I will see him every week until the end of the year and go back to work either dec 22 or jan 5. My work already gave me to the 22nd, but I can mail them his paperwork extending to jan. There will be a period of time then until I get the expanders switched out and then that will be a two or three week out of work—probably in the spring.

I stopped taking the pain meds yesterday, didn’t really need them and used them for sleeping but they only helped a bit and didn’t like the left over feeling. He said I could take Motrin or something like that, just not aspirin. I told him about being of good Ukrainian stock and he said that he liked that because I didn’t mind Theron when he pulled the tubes out. The first was just a pulling but the second one felt like a hot pocket and then it was gone!

I do have odd periods where I felt a bit off but for the most part I feel pretty good. The plan was to pamper myself this week, but who knows, I just might take a walk around the block tomorrow even tho it is supposed to get really cold.

It is amazing, jeff was home til Monday and I was thinking how am I going to handle Tuesday, but when tuesday came, and my sister was coming down, I almost told her she didn’t have to come because I felt so good! Jeff has everything taken care of so we just visited. I will do a few dishes, but am trying to pace myself because altho I feel good, I do not want to overdo which I think I did last night. But it is amazing how the dr said I would feel better in a day or two and he was right, I DO!
