The lights come up on a barren stage
And a woman on pins and needles
Saying, “Alas I threw my love away
On a man who was not my equal.
And it’s a high price that I pay.
It’s a high price that I pay.
Yes it’s a high price that I pay
To get my spirit free, get my spirit free.

Olana holds a candle as the spotlight fades
And the darkness takes hold once again.
The rain of her tears comes down and the light goes away,
And Olana is alone again.
Will someone look after Olana?
Will someone look after Olana?

The great creation met its match one night
In a trailer park near Denver.
She was only a girl and it didn’t seem right,
But now it’s the one thing she remembers,
And the family never calls.
The family never calls.
No the family never calls,
They just don’t want to see, they don’t want to see…

Olana holds a candle as the spotlight fades
And the darkness takes hold once again.
The rain of her tears comes down and the light goes away,
And Olana is alone again.
Will someone look after Olana?
Will someone look after Olana?

Is this life so full of lessons
Yet so devoid of a way to get home?
Where’s the shelter of a blessing
When a lost heart needs one most?

Olana holds a candle as the spotlight fades
And the darkness takes hold once again.
The rain of her tears comes down and the light goes away,
And Olana is alone again.
Will someone look after Olana?
Will someone look after Olana?
