The stories we tell ourselves get better over time.
If it is true that there really are only two kinds of stories, comedies and tragedies, mine are certainly comedies.
I like to look back and reminisce.
I like to note the passage of time.
I read the sidebar here and think back to moving furniture in Victoria BC back in 1990. That was 35 years ago, today.
And I read in the sidebar a short trip to Hengchun 5 years ago today, thinking, “Was that 5 years ago already?”
The thing about writing to a site like this or to making videos on Youtube is that you give yourself the ability to go back in time and revisit yourself. That is a good and golden opportunity for self amusement and study.

I SO agree, my wife will ask when something happened in our lives years ago and I automatically look at old entries. Stuff I thought was 5 years ago was actually 10 or vice versa. It's like the writing allows me to let go of the timeline cuz I know where I can find it if I need it.
