For one week in december. THIS week. Prime rib slabs are on sale for 5ish dollars a lb at both safeway and king soopers. You have to have an account with each one hooked to a phone number. It says limit one per HOUSEHOLD mind you. One slab. Hahha. BUT you can clip the coupon once per phone number.

Soooo we ended up with 9 slabs. Thats nearly a thousand dollars. Actually to be honest, it was probably more.

My parents are in town, so we used their numbers, T and Mine. Three of the boys, my mother in law. and two at king soopers. We maxed out the credit card for it. If we had any more i would be putting king soopers apps on the kids phones and getting more.

Someone made a nasty comment when we were checking out with three. Mind your damn business! I stock up on meat so we have steak for months. I have a huge household. It takes a lot to feed us all!

We are packaging them 5-6 steaks per package. Ive been boiling the bones for beef bone broth. The little fatty chunks with beef in them are cut off and turned into hamburger ( 8 lbs of it so far!) The good white fat is turned into tallow for frying. Potatoes in tallow, Yes please! So good. We smoke the fat till its super tender. Render it down. Set it and store it. It lasts a long time and is shelf stable.

Its the best meat sale of the year and it dosent get cheaper then this. We use ALL of it too. My mom was impressed when i started bone broth and t started the tallow. Shes like, Can i get a bone for Belle ( her dog) She took one I had already boiled for a while. Belle has next to no  teeth, They never grew in properly and are mostly little nubs. Shes about 10  so old girl like my dog.

I WISH I could afford to get another 3 slabs at king soopers. Because just being able to store the steaks for months to come is a big deal. We have been vacuum sealing them all up.

I made gingerbread cookies and banana apple bread for breakfast. Went to little girl's friends birthday party.  Got my hair cut and brows waxed ( yay for not thinking of THAT for a while now!). Did our errands. Came home made another batch of cookies. Stepdad says I make the BEST gingerbread. Its not super crunchy but not crazy soft. Slightly dry as gingerbread can be, Perfect to nom on.

I made beef soup from the bone broth I had finished. The rest will get boiled down to a concentrate then frozen in 2 cup increments. So I can use it to make soups.

The boys had their ortho appointment on Friday. L had his appliance removed from his braces. He only has a few months left! Ch has his appliance still. His jaw is still a bit off. Hes going to need a bit longer. We figured it may take a bit. He had a severe lip tie as a baby and we didnt get it fixed till he was 12. The dr kept saying it was fine. Saw a dentist here for the first visit and he asked why we never clipped it. I said everyone told us he didnt need it. Asked about his feeding habits as a baby. I told him how bad it was to nurse him for 15 months. I had to wean him early it was so bad. He said lets clip it, He had it cauterized and Ch hurt yes but said over all it felt SO much better. Anyway Ch is speaking really crappy. They had to tighten his braces and device so yeah it hurts. I linked to the device if you are curious about it. Their regular dentist had not seen it used before. But it corrects the jaw position. Right now hes not moving his gums over his teeth when talking or his jaw much so it sounds like a run on jabbery sentence. Annoying af. L is also no longer needing rubber bands. Ch needs them on one side. Getting there. Ill be happy when THAT monthly bill is OVER.

I saw my dr this week too. I asked about migraine break through meds. She said lets try Qulipta. Its made by the company that does ajovy ( which im on) and they dont have any drug interactions. She wasnt sure if insurance would cover it seeing they are the same company. BUT they covered it at 100%. I took my first pill today. Hoping it helps with my breakthrough migraines. They arent TERRIBLE but they do suck.

Ugh. I asked if i could pull A's hair back when we got to the party at the trampoline park. She reufsed. Not too uncommon, BUT then I realized the ENTIRE back of her hair was an terrible mat. I mean BAD. So Tonight i made her wash her hair, condition it well. Shes like I Got the mat out. I looked. Um NO. I put leave in conditioner and tried. It didnt work. I got a hair mask out and started to slowly work THAT in. We managed to FINALLY get it out with not too bad of hair loss. Yeah there was loss. I need to cut about 2 inches off of her hair. But I got that damn mat out. It was 3 mats growing into one another. Some were so bad I wasnt shocked when it broke off a chunk. Thankfully not in a noticeable way and its at her hair line.  I didnt tell her a chunk came out. I did tell her we need to cut some tomorrow. I left the mask in and braided her hair in two braids for bed.

Shes kinda getting sick sounding so I told her no friends and sent her to bed.

Now im just hanging out, sitting on the couch watching my christmas tree lights flicker with a parrot on my shoulder who keeps nibbling at my collar bone. I have little tiny skin toned bumps on my neck. Its like acne but not? she finds them and nibbles.  I was knitting but now im just reading a book and enjoying the lights in my peripheral.
