Up at 5:30 a.m. again, because—well, that’s what you do when you’re a Corporate Slug, right? The world doesn’t stop, so why should I? A quick yoga stretch, a coffee, and a scan of my to-do list. Big presentation prep, a few calls, the usual chaos. It’s non-stop, but I’m used to it by now. By 7:45 a.m., I’m out the door, headphones in, powering through the morning routine like it’s all part of the plan.

Lunch was at Fallow today- I decided to go somewhere different. We grabbed a quick bite, had a drink (nothing too wild, just a glass of white wine to unwind for a second). It’s funny how these lunches, even the rushed ones, somehow end up being more about catching up with colleagues than actually eating. Sophie was filling me in on her latest project—corporate gossip is always so much more interesting when it’s not about you.

Back to the grind afterward, of course. Emails, meetings, the usual. By the time I finished, I was ready to collapse, but I did manage to squeeze in a quick break around 5 p.m. for a walk around the block—just to clear my head. It’s fast becoming a daily non-negotiable. Got home around 7:30, and thank goodness for that big pot of beef chilli I batch cooked on Sunday. It’s been my go-to dinner this week—warm, hearty, perfect for these chilly evenings. I like to have it with brown rice, just feels like it rounds everything out.

Now it’s twenty to nine, and I’m getting ready for bed. I’ve got a novel waiting for me—nothing beats ending the day with a good book. Oh, and I heard something interesting today: 80% of novels are bought by women: mad, right? But it makes sense. Books are a perfect little escape.

Anyway, time to dive into my latest read. G’night.
