Not Spooky at All in Everyday Ramblings

Ah. I am here. Okay. It is still dark (because it seems like it is dark all the time now) here on this time change weekend but I am out at our semi-annual coast getaway where I took this picture in mid October last year. We get this weekend for free, because Kes and Most Honorable stayed here for almost a week a few months back. This is one sweet deal and I very much am not taking it for granted.

And because it is the time change weekend we get an additional hour here for free. Yippee.

The trip over the coastal mountains wasn’t problematic at all, a few minutes of sheeting rain, a few more of dense fog but it started to rain when we arrived at the beach and rained until well after dark. I wasn’t feeling all that great honestly so for the first time ever I didn’t get out for a walk on the beach. I did smell that wonderful rich air though. :)

The four day yoga workshop with the additional strain of walking 4 ½ miles each day to get there and back with my slightly arthritic hips plus not having a proper weekend and then teaching a bunch as well as working and not following my own advice and doing a small yoga practice each day, oh and the cruddy work chair and the endless wet weather we are experience have led to an unhappy back and I woke up yesterday with spasms.

I now know so much more about my back than I used to I was able to deal and have a functional day yesterday that involved travel which means more sitting than normal. I feel a gazillion times better today and am looking forward to getting outside and moving around.

And now it is a bit later and I have gone for a happy solitary walk on the beach and had breakfast and am lazing around. We have a break in the rain and a gorgeous patch of blue sky. Patience, the house Western Gull is about to give up her morning begging for food vigil, we don’t feed the gulls but that doesn’t stop them from trying.

Last night we had an adolescent female cat, very healthy looking come looking for food too in the rain. When the cable guy came to fix the Internet connection that was damaged in last week’s storm he let her in. She is socialized enough that she let me pick her up and gently put her outside and we haven’t seen her this morning. She was neither feral or staving, although she put on quite an attention getting show out on the deck that was breaking out hearts.

On the agenda, is reading, and yoga, and more walking and eating and… you get the picture. I am still a little “off” but compared to yesterday I am heading back to normal and looking forward to rest and rejuvenation here on the spookiest day of the year.
