Day 10 - If you were going to write a novel, what would it be about? in NoJoMo 2024

The protagonist is a poor desolate middle-aged man, who moves to a new city and has difficulty finding cheap housing. One fine day a newspaper page lands on his feet as he sits in the park, buried in his own thoughts. The newspaper page has an ad about a house with unbelievably cheap rent.

Protagonist decides to investigate and see if that offer is still there. And it is. it’s a decent sized house, 2 stories, but it’s in shambles, decomposing. Another couple of years and this house would be imploding on itself.

Protagonist counts the money in his hand and decides to take the house anyway, beats living on the street he thinks to himself.

The house is run down, cheap, but relatively clean, no rodents either to his surprise.
Because the house is haunted.

And its not haunted by your average translucent, jump scare loving ghosts.

It’s haunted by the seven deadly sins, the capital vices.

Pride, Greed, Wrath, Envy, Lust, Gluttony and Sloth

• Pride is a well-mannered, soft spoken man from London
• Greed is a Russian with a massive vodka tumbler
• Envy is a green-eyed French inner city girl.
• Gluttony is a fat Italian chef who’s insanely obsessed with cheese
• Wrath is a loud black woman from South Carolina, USA
• Lust is a blue-eyed girl from Brazil
• Sloth is an old East Asian dude that’s totally chill.

The sins look at the protagonist and want to ruin him.

But he welcomes the ruin, he’s so depressed and ready to give in.

The sins decide this is no fun, so they decide to help him.

Every sin coaches and groom the protagonist.

Pride teaches him how to be good at public speaking and being good at networking.

Gluttony teaches him how to cook wonderful food

Lust teaches him how to woo the women properly and be a Casanova

Greed teaches him how to be good at business, investing and making money

Etc etc etc.

You get the picture.

Someone please steal this idea and write a damn novel and subsequently a limited Netflix Mini Series.

I’ve dream cast who’s gonna play them in the Netflix Mini Series.
