Another glorious day! Not too cold last night. 42 degrees at midnight in the van. I woke up at 10:30am. 51 degrees in the van. I wondered if my atomic clock had reset coming off daylight savings time. I dug my travel clock out of my knapsack. 11:30am. Yep,it had reset itself.
I got dressed and went upstairs. Jassy had a pot of coffee brewed and waiting. Her old coffee maker had finally crapped out. Yesterday I had to use my camp percolator on the stove. And then she had returned from her mother’s with a coffee maker. The carafe was cracked but the carafe from her old coffee maker was the same brand. We were back in business.
I took my coffee out the van to sit and read. By about 3pm the van had warmed up to 77 degrees and then the sun ducked behind the building and it started getting too dim to read. I took my book upstairs to finish reading for the day. Jassy spent a few hours re-arranging the craft/junk room to make room for the big desk her mother is bringing tomorrow.
Jassy made spaghetti with garlic bread for supper. Always very good. I give her a hard time about the sauce from a jar but it is good. We added some mushrooms to it.
I packed up and came over here to Hardee’s. I caught up with my truckers on youtube. And then the wifi crapped out. Sarah tried resetting the router. It says it’s connected, but it isn’t. Same old occasional crap. Oh well. I’ve got iTunes to listen to to and plenty to do offline.
Tomorrow when Jassy’s mom shows up with the desk I should be there to help carry the damn thing up to the apartment. Or I could disappear. Or I could just sit back and laugh at them. Twenty-five years now I’ve packed that desk around. It’s like an albatross around my neck. The old desk chair is trashed. She’ll have to find another one. And she said the green shade on the desk lamp got broke.
I did remember to shower today. I just decided to shower on Sundays. If I make it a habit maybe I won’t forget. Shave. Shower. Sunday. Easy to remember.
So yeah. Tick. Tock. Life goes on.
