Oooh boy yesterday was a doozy.
On my way to the gym I called for a walk in appointment with our health services folks. After the gym a mental health nurse called me to assess… I guess my level of distress? And I guess I was convincing, because I got referred to a physicians assistant who can actually “prescribe” time off (for some reason the MH folks are not allowed to do that).
All told, it took until 1pm to get TWO DAYS OFF. And yesterday counted as DAY ONE. So basically I only got today off. And I spent all day today waiting for a phone call from health services to book a follow up appointment for tomorrow, since she vaguely mentioned I’d probably get Thursday Friday off too, but why the fuck couldn’t they just give me 4 fucking days and ACTUALLY LET ME REST. She kept saying to work on “grounding”. Might need more than a single day to do that.
I went to craft night and there was a new person and she talked the ENTIRE time. At one point Mandy caught my eye and wide-eyed at me like, “Is this chick for real?” Hahaha. Honestly it’s funny when I encounter people with my level of extroversion these days. It’s weird to have my energy reflected back at me, and I’m like, how the fuck am I friends with so many introverts? This woman is EXHAUSTING hahahaha. Granted, I’m not the high quality extrovert I used to be, despite still identifying that way… so when I ran out of energy to keep up with her like, 3/4 of the way through the evening I was like SOMEONE BACK ME UP HERE. Nope. She was all mine.
Then I spent all day today with a fucking killer headache. I don’t feel terrible now, but it actually didn’t get better until after M got home. Super conducive to
Tomorrow I’m getting up at a usual work time, going to the gym, then going to talk to the PA in person and hopefully getting another 2 days off. If I don’t I’m going to fucking riot.
Saturday is Kitten Day. Unfortunately the breeder isn’t meeting us this year, which means we have a 6h40m drive (round trip) to look forward to.
