Miss Oak Tree in 2024

Happy Saturday, everyone!!
It is super chilly bug today. Im thinking socks and a hoodie is in order.
Not ready to turn the heater on yet.
Ive been spending the day working on The List. Right now i have the range taken apart. The burners, drip pans, and knobs are on their second soak. The range is lifted and the underneath is on its second soak also.
There is no way all this grease and nastiness was just me. Thats cool, though, Im cleaning it up.
I forgot to get oven cleaner, so the oven will have to wait until next payday.

While cleaning, I looked up to see a little boy walking up my sidewalk. It was my “nephew”, Karmas youngest kiddo. I walked outside and Karma informed me that he wanted to see his Aunt Niki.
Aww....anytime, kiddo, anytime.

Karma and I were chatting while he was collecting acorns (hes 4). He walked up and said he couldnt find anymore. She asked him if he had asked the tree.
Y’all, this child walked up to the oak tree and said “May I please have some more acorns?”
I. Almost.Died.
He waited for a few minutes and turned to say “I dont think shes home.”
I love this kid!

Right before they left, he found another acorn. He turned to the tree, held up the acorn and said thank you.
Be still my heart.

So the latest kitten didnt make it.
The Other Tech texted me and said he passed sometime last night.
This makes me sad but he was so, so weak.
At least he had a warm, clean place to expire in.
We tried. Sometimes that just isnt enough.

Im going to go grab some socks and finish the range.
