Yesterday was a good day.
If you haven’t read my actual entry from yesterday (with all the edits or expansion packs, if you will), I was able to cross everything off my list except hanging the lights above the tv.
I got all the laundry and dishes washed and put away. Played and spent quality time with the animals.
Made a roast that turned out pretty amazing.
I had the windows open with a nice fall breeze coming in while I worked on a diamond painting and watched baking shows.
It was the most relaxing day I’ve had since Dana left.
I’m SO happy that I moved the tv out of the bedroom.
I wasn’t able to finish the section of the diamond painting that I wanted to but I came pretty close.
I’d post a photo but I’m at work.
Speaking of work; I’m alone today. The other tech called in sick and my doctor was up until 5am doing a c section on a pig an hour away. We had one appointment today and then she headed home to crash.
I don’t blame her.
This just means I don’t get a lunch today. Normally that would be fine but I woke up too late to make coffee this morning.
Usually coffee fills me up and I’m good until 2 or so in the afternoon.
Not today. I was holding a dog while my doctor cleaned his ears and my tummy was screaming.
It was a little embarrassing.
Luckily I found a tuna kit in the snack basket.
Note to self: I need to replace that on payday. I should also stock up on lunch stuff.
Our one appointment this morning was a dog that kept shaking his head. We have told this woman again and again to STOP using essential oils on her animals. Those things are highly toxic to them.
Whoever is selling them to her (trust me, in this town he has an essential oil lady) needs to be slapped. How are you going to sell that stuff and not teach people how to handle it correctly.
What do I mean? I dunno, like….
-Never, ever put essential oils on your animals.
-Don’t touch your animals if you have oils on your hands.
-There are oils that are considered “hot” and need to be mixed with a carrier oil like coconut or olive oil. These oils never go directly onto your skin.
I love, love, love essential oils. Big ol hippie right here. However, even if I use a shampoo with tea tree in it, I won’t let Albie near me until my hair dries.
Yall, this poor dogs ears were SO burned from her putting oils on him.
“Well that’s how it works. I know when I burn myself and put lavender oil on it, my skin burns for a second then it’s all better,” she told us with a straight face.
Huh?? Why? Why lavender? Why straight? Why do people keep selling her these things? They are not supposed to burn. You aren’t even supposed to feel the oil.
Why do we keep having to tell her this?!
My doctor, Mother love her, she was all “I…I don’t know how else to tell her to stop doing this. Do I need to be a bitch to her?” She asked.
Yall know me…yup.
So we cleaned his poor ears out and put him on (gasp and shock) antibiotics for the puss pockets that had formed in them.
Her: alright he is good to go. Yall have got to stop using oils on the animals. His ears are pretty burned.
Owner: yeah, from him scratching his ears.
Her: no, it’s from the oils.
Owner: we do that because he scratches his ears.
They ain’t gonna stop, are they?
I have a sad. I know it’s because I woke up too late this morning and didn’t have time to take my medicine, but still…..
I feel like Dana and I are just out of synch and I don’t want that.
I don’t know if we need to FaceTime or what.
Blah, I don’t like it.
Maybe it’s because I’ve been alone all day and I go home to more alone?
I’m trying to stay up beat and positive but it’s hard.
This entry got away from me.
I need to go find something to do.
