Just a few nights ago I took out a Blu-ray disc, it was the last time the band ‘Cream’ got together in May 2005, tonight when I looked at the on line news, Jack Bruce died today. I recall a friend telling me there was a new group, not just a group but a Supergroup, we were walking into Shrewsbury; about 1966 I think. This new group was formed by Eric Clapton, he had Jack Bruce a great Bass player and Ginger Baker also a well respected musician playing the drums.

That was the thing about Cream, each member was thought the best on there instrument, their playing the blues was used fused with jazz, a five minute track on a LP could be improvise to fifteen or twenty minutes. As a band Cream lasted two and a half years, there was rivalry between Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker, also Jack Bruce pushing up the sound level didn’t go well with Ginger Baker, and Cream played their last performance in London on the 26th of November.

I had wished they would get together one more time, at lest I have their music on vinyl, CD, DVD and Blu-ray. It comes to us all, seeing our hero’s of youth passing; so it is a sad farewell to the bass and voice of Cream.
