Wow, I came to write a new entry and found the title already here! I guess I wrote it a few days ago and never got a bit farther than that! :o) !! Well, I guess I’ll keep the title…it still fits!

I am so excited! I have MANY DAYS OFF coming up! This week that just ended is my last five-day work-week for awhile. This coming week, I have Friday off for inservice. The next week, we have Election Day off, and the week after that, Veterans’ Day. After that we actually do work five days (boo! hiss!), but we have the ENTIRE week of Thanksgiving off!! I am tickled that I will be able to squeeze in time with all my most-loved people!

Yesterday my sisters, niece, and I did the Southern Delaware Heart Walk. It was held on the campus of DelTech college in Dover. What a pretty, cool, sunny Fall day it was! I really enjoy going on these various “Walks.” It’s a chance to be outdoors in a pretty place, with hundreds or even thousands of happy, energetic, positive-thinking people, all doing the same thing for a good common cause. As I was assembled there with the crowd, enjoying the people and the upbeat music and waiting for the Walk to start, I got a fairly uncharacteristic feeling of patriotism. There IS a lot in our country that needs fixin’, but even so, we are a place where big groups of people of all races, ages, etc., can get together and enjoy sharing a common GOOD cause. I’m sure this happens in some other countries too! But in many, it doesn’t. We are blessed to live here.

It was fun. My niece and I talked a lot together as we walked along. I don’t get to see her as often as I see my sisters, so that was good. Lil Sis Carol got pooped and could only do half the walk.....a mile and a half....but that was ok. We did not mind heading for the car; we had shopping and lunch to do anyhow. We are just so happy that she can walk a mile and a half, because it was only two years ago that we were afraid we were going to lose her, after the major surgery she had for bladder cancer. It took her soooo long to recover, both physically and otherwise. But now she is so healthy and so happy! Having Sister Sandy here helps so much. They see each other and do things together every day. They go to the gym (at the rec center in Carol’s town) five mornings a week! :o) !!

After I got back home, I napped, and woke up feelin’ like accomplishing something around this house!!!!! Joe and Joey were both out doing their own things, so with just Guinness’s assistance, I made GREAT progress at reclaiming space from the mess....mostly JOE’S mess, because he is a big loveable Bear who has never learned to PUT HIS TOYS AWAY. His candle-making is a wonderful hobby, and the sale of his candles make a lot of money for the ASW’s New Alexandrian Library. But it sure fills up this house! Through my efforts, which really didn’t take me very long, I’ve remedied that problem for now! :o) !!

Well, my dear friends, it is 4 a.m. and I am now ready to go back to bed. :o) !! I hope you have a wonderful day and a great week ahead!

hugs and blessings,
Nicky
