I went to a job interview today for $13 an hour cooking at a nursing home. I had no idea that they cook everything from scratch. I have never cooked hardly anything from scratch in my life. I am impatient. At the hotel everything I cook is premade and warmed up in a microwave. At the job interview at the nursing home I felt ignorant and lacking. This man asked me if I ever made a roux. Temperature for chicken and beef. I was asked what items needed to be mixed to make pancake batter. I felt like a dumbass and defeated. My dad never let me cook my husband criticized me so much I gave up and told him to cook for us. I feel severely unqualified for this position and I don’t think he will call me back.
Speaking of unqualified I got offered a job as a daycare teacher. They said my pay is based off experience. I don’t have any experience. I work at the hotel for $10.90 an hour if the daycare can’t pay me more than that I am not accepting the job. I have no children everyone around me got teenagers not toddlers. I miscarried last year early in my pregnancy. I have some experience where I was getting a teaching degree when I was in college but that was for elementary school not toddlers. I took an RBA in English and a minor in psychology. I go to that job interview tomorrow.
I work at the hotel at 5 in the morning so I guess I better go to bed..night.
