My old one was working great until the night before last when it said the battery was down and that was pretty much all it wrote. I checked my connections maybe twenty times and nothing resurrected the battery. Turns out replacing the battery etc etc didn’t seem like a good idea, so… so…
I got a new computer. It’s an Acer Chrome book which is what I had before which I liked a lot. I am an Acer Chrome fan. The new computer and a package of humming bird food came to $303 - which I put into my Misc - necessary and Misc - frivolous budget - fifty fifty.
Jim was very supportive through the endeavor - including buying me a really good BLT at T-Bocks.
So - so.
Here’s two pictures from my north window this very morning.
So anyway. Life is like that.

Woot about a new computer!

Woo hoo!
A new computer is always fun! I have an acer, too. I bought it shortly after Robert died. He had a fancy computer built by his son for his own needs. I gave it back to his son. I didn't want second hand and I certainly didn't want fancy.

Is that milkweed in your second photo? There was tons of that in the meadow adjoining our home in Massachusetts when I was a kid.
That, and blueberry bushes.

I can't think of its name. Might be beauty of the prairie except when I look it up I can't find it. It's a weed slash wild flower but I kink of like it. Milkweed blooms later and has a smaller purple flower. We don't have blueberries at all. The multiflora roses - nasty weed with a history = they were introduced to use as hedges to replace fences but they spread really badly. They are pretty and I need to photo them but they aren't desireable in the here and now. We have a lot of Queen Anne's lace which has a smaller simillair flower. It blooms later too and is pretty and isn't so much of a nuisance.

I call that cow parsnip :) Don't touch it too much, it can burn your skin if it is that.

You're probablly right - or at least close.

Maybe Hogsweed but I hope not ;)

Cow parsnip can give you skin ulcers that don't heal.

I think the parsnip comes later in the season along with Queen Anne's Lace. 'I' think this is something else. But thanks.

What the significance of the car part on the window pane?

Ahhh, you noticed the center of the grille from the Buick!!
Last deer my son hit - our neighbor guy did the body work. He found a spare LaCrosse on Facebook and got it for little or nothing and he put ours back together. I went to see the operation which took place in the machine shed at Joana's. And there in a trash bucket was the old broken grill and I saw the center piece and asked him if he'd cut it out for me. He did and I can still see him polishing the broken/cut edges.
My old old old job made automotive decorative stuff and I wonder if they made this piece at another location. I like having it. It's cute.

So now I have to wonder, is the the computer or the bird seed that is frivolous or are they both 50% frivolous?
