Aloha…

I grew up in Marin County (just across the Golden Gate bridge from San Francisco)…

When I got married in 1968(the first time)… we moved north to Petaluma… then back to Marin after a couple of years…

After my divorce (Yay)… I started my own Lumber Brokerage (still in Marin)… in 1978 I moved to the little town of Forestville (perfect for a Lumber Broker don’t you think) up on the Russian River…

It was there that I met a woman who would become my second wife…

We left there in 1981 and moved to the north shore of Lake Tahoe where our daughter Emily was born…

From there we moved to Maui… then back to the mainland to first Sonora… then Columbia up in the mother lode area of northern California…

Then… back to Maui…

After four years… my (then) wife wanted to come back to the mainland… so we moved to Arroyo Grande (central coast of California)… and two years later she divorced me… I stayed… she moved to Colorado…

After selling the house I lived with a friend while I searched for a place at the beach… and in 1999 found the perfect place in Pismo Beach…

But shortly after closing escrow… a woman friend on Maui called and asked if I would like to rent long term… a home that she had just bought (ocean front in Lahaina)… I said yes… put the house in Pismo Beach up for sale… and a few months later was back on the island…

I had purchased a house for my oldest daughter in Sacramento… and four years later received a phone call from her… notifying me that she and her b/f had broken up… and moved out of the house…

I returned to the mainland with the idea of putting the house on the market… but was told by my tax guy that if I lived in it for two years… I would save $60,000.00 in capital gains tax…

So that is where I spent the next two years…

During that time… my youngest daughter died… I sold the house…and not wanting to return to the island… I headed north to Oregon…

The rest you know… I have been here eight years…
